Molly's Needles

My adventures in knitting... and a few other things thrown in for fun.

I got back into knitting because of the Harry Potter scarves and sweaters. Although I knit other items, replicating HP-wear remains my first love.

Someone just shoot me!

I haven't been here in over a month, and I apologize to anyone who might have been reading. Between work, the house, the upcoming holidays and whatever else that gets thrown at me I'm lucky if I remember my name most days!

So, I've been painting and decorating the house. I have the living room, dining room, my bedroom and the two baths done. About half-way there, but other than the kitchen all "public" areas are done. So I may actually have people over now!

I've also been working at my holiday list. I've got 2 of the 5 watch caps for my dad done. They are each 1-skein hats I'm making out of Cascade 220. After talking to my mother about some stuff that she and my step-father like/need I found some DVDs about historical trains for him (he's a train fanatic) and am making the Lacy Prairie Shawl from Folk Shawls for her out of some gorgeous green Lana d'Oro. She's seen the yarn so I know she'll like it. Two Booga Bags are done, just waiting to be felted. The blasted striped scarves are finally done! A few other things for friends (who do sometimes come in here, so I can't get any more specific). And the dishclothes for my brother are almost ready to be packed off.

Hopefully after the hols are over I'll have a little time to breathe and be here more regularly. I'd like to get a bit of work done on my Weasley Sweater. I'm afraid the poor thing has been put aside for the moment. And I've about given up on a poncho for this year. Maybe another time.

As I probably won't be back this week, just want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. Have a wonderful time with friends and family and please be safe.
